Svetlana moved to the United States of America in 2009. She attended American River College where she took a few Political Science courses that sparked her interest in politics. In 2017, Svetlana received a Batchelor degree in Government from Sacramento State University. During her last semester at Sac State, she worked at the California Capitol Building getting a first-hand experience working with constituents and pushing forward legislations that affected millions of Californians. In 2020, she graduated from McGeorge School of Law with Concentrations in Business and Taxation. While in law school, Svetlana became interested in a fast-growing cannabis industry and took a compliance specialist position working for three local cannabis dispensaries.

After passing the California Bar, Svetlana worked in Workers’ Compensation department of a large local employment law firm representing clients, who suffered from work-related injuries, before the Workers’ Compensation Appellate Board.

In 2022, Svetlana joined our law firm. Svetlana was always interested in pursuing a career in transactional law advising and assisting clients in making decisions that have a long-lasting effect on their lives. Svetlana enjoys working in the areas of estate planning, probate, and business law. It is her goal to carefully listen to her client’s needs, address their concerns, and help them achieve their desired outcome.

Svetlana grew up in a small industrial town on the eastern side of the extreme southern extent of the Ural Mountains in Russia. She is fluent in Russian, and she is always happy to talk to her Russian-speaking clients in their native language and explain to them various legal concepts that might be hard to comprehend as American and Russian legal systems vary significantly.

For leisure, Svetlana enjoys spending time with her husband and their two adorable dogs. Svetlana spends her weekends taking dogs to the dog parks or hiking trails, having dinners with family and friends, and reading for work and pleasure.
